There are more than 325 species of aloes. Many aloes flower in winter and will grow almost anywhere.
They require very little maintenance growing in semi-arid areas, and are well-suited to dry climate gardens in Australia. They will also grow in semi-shaded areas but best to plant them in full sun.
Aloes will bloom every year and do not die back after flowering. In South-Eastern Australia it flowers from late June to late August or September.
These red hot poker aloes produce glorious red blooms attracting many bees collecting nectar from the aloes. They also brighten up your garden and are stunning and vibrant in colour.
